Story is the thread that connects people to one another all over the world. It is the thread to our humanity - a silver lining along a never-ending journey in search of who we are. As the world continues to move towards a global society, there needs to be a shift in the ways in which we create and tell our stories. More and more businesses & brands are using the art of storytelling to grow. However, much of these stories are told through a monolithic and narrow lens. Even those trained in the art of storytelling have not broadened their reach beyond their own backyards. Too often those starting or restarting their careers limit their scope of possibilities.
Understanding where you’ve been is a crucial part of everyone’s journey. As a business, you may feel you’ve ventured off course - unable to recognize the driving force behind your original intent.
Those starting or transitioning into careers or the workforce may feel the pressure behind expectations, either self-imposed or set by society at-large.
For the creative mind, inspiration and motivation can feel like a maze with too many dead ends. Where do you start? How do you get unstuck? How do you get back on path while discovering the endless possibilities along this journey we call life?
We can help.
Our founder, Tracy M. King-Sánchez, has spent years engaging complete strangers - from around the world - in conversations that, more often than not, lead to the existential question of who we are and what do we want. She has gained valuable insights from these conversations. Conversations which, she believes, should take root and spread from shore to shore.
As a former educator, she has acquired the necessary training and skills to help others along their journey. As an anthropological storyteller, Tracy deeply believes that the solution to many a thing lies in understanding the anthropological roots of who we are.
Tracy's writing has appeared in The Southampton Review, Midnight Breakfast, The Normal School, and other literary magazines. Her short story, That Sigourney Weaver Thang - from which the main character of her novel first appeared - was a Notable Mention in 2016’s The Best American Short Stories. Tracy holds a BA in English, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing & Literature from. In addition to writing, she directed, wrote, produced and edited a short film, Artistic Closure, which played at film festivals. She has served as a juror for the Stony Brook Film Festival. Tracy is currently working on a novel, a collection of short stories set in both Brooklyn and Paris, and a memoir of letters examining her childhood as a foster child and how it has led her to yet another home in Amsterdam.
